Hurricane Katrina, August, 2005

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina slammed into the East Coast. While the government may have been slow to respond, the sheer scale of the disaster took everyone by surprise. In the coastal community of Bay St. Louis alone, it’s estimated 15,000 homes were destroyed.
