The closely watched annual study evaluated construction costs against home resale values and found the national average return on investment for fiber-cement siding replacement to be 88.1 percent. This was the highest of any remodeling project, including vinyl- siding replacement, and bathroom and kitchen remodels, projects traditionally believed to be the best investments.
